Meet Britt.

Britt is the secret weapon that everyone wants in their arsenal. Described by others around the office as lively, quietly confident and with an ability to speak earnestly and calmly to anyone of any age, Britt has made a positive and lasting impression as an Associate Consultant as Ellis Jones. Part of the Communications team, Britt displays all the qualities of a real millennial: passion, drive, social consciousness and a desire to do work that leaves a lasting positive impact; with an unwavering love of brunch and smashed avo. Already a seasoned world traveler, animal lover, and Francophile, Britt is both wise beyond her years and with a creative streak that puts most to shame. Dire bonjour à Britt.

Q: Sum yourself up in three words.

Creative. Curious. Animal-obsessed (a hyphen makes it 3 words, right?).

Q: What were you doing before you came to EJ?

Trudging through university hanging for the ‘real world’, as they say. As wonderful as education is, I’ve certainly learnt more at Ellis Jones than I ever did sitting in a lecture theatre (thanks guys!) [ed note: Britt was not made to say this]

Although in saying that, I am grateful to have a degree under my belt. It’s an opportunity not everyone gets.

Oh! And I did have a quick (cough, four month) pit stop in Europe along the way.

Q: What area of your work are you most passionate about?

It’s fascinating diving deep into industries that I would have never of known about if it wasn’t for my job.

It’s something I’ll never take for granted. Diversity at work keeps me on my feet, challenged and constantly learning. Variety of knowledge has also helped me improve my small-talk skills!

Except when it’s 43 degrees. Small talk doesn’t happen then.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

That people are fallible, and it’s not always a bad thing.

Q: Where is your favourite place in the world?

My bed…

Nah kidding. I am just trying to distract you from my incredibly cliche answer… J’adore Paris!

Wait I think I just made it worse.

Q: Describe your perfect day

My perfect day would start with coffee and brunch at a local cafe (YES I am a millennial and YES, I would probably order the smashed avo). Followed by a beach day with friends or family. I appreciate the beach more and more every year, so I try to visit any chance I can.

And of course I would spend some time with my pets. I have five, so really, I can take my pick.

Q: What are you most excited about in the next 12 months?

I am excited FOR the next 12 months! I feel very lucky to have stumbled into a career that works for me. I’ve managed to walk straight out of uni into a job that I really love, and I’m aware of the rarity of that. Every day is a learning curve and I can’t wait for what’s next.

Q: Someone is making a movie about you. Who plays the lead?

Oh gosh. This question is basically a minefield for narcissism. I think it’s safe to say, Chloe-Grace Moretz? I get told I look like her a lot.

Say hello to Britt, or meet the rest of the team.
