Sara Burke

It’s with words that Sara feels most at home. It’s with people that she feels the most energised. And it’s through marrying these two strengths that has landed Sara a career in communications – blending her writing flair and curiosity in humanity to drive positive societal change.

At Ellis Jones, Sara is working on:

– Driving sustainable regional expansion in Victoria by leading the integrated marketing for Millar Merrigan, a property consultancy group focused on innovation and sustainability.

– Informing the Victorian public of investigations into disputes regarding judicial officers and judges by producing copy and editing services for Court Services Victoria.

– Saving lives from carbon monoxide by contributing to Energy Safe Victoria’s 2022 rendition of the award-winning Be Sure campaign.

She brings extensive content writing experience across the arts, mental health and non-profit organisations. Before joining Ellis Jones, Sara was a Senior Copywriter at Refresh Marketing. In this role, she lead a successful bequests marketing campaign for Arts Centre Melbourne, created regular and strategic content for a psychology practice, and produced a magazine for a humanitarian organisation, while also mentoring junior copywriters across diverse writing projects.

Over the years, Sara has volunteered for the Melbourne Writers’ Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Ozcare, and more. In 2017, she co-hosted TedxUniMelb’s Mind Matters Conference, and in 2018, she promoted social inclusion and economic stability for a minority group in Indonesia.

Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communications and Philosophy, and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Melbourne.
