Communicating the positive potential of environmental sustainability to employees and small business.
Learn more about this project
Ellis Jones has been working with the City of Melbourne since 2003, during which we have provided strategic communication, media and stakeholder relations, issues management, writing and training services. As part of the City of Melbourne’s Enterprise Agreement, staff are encouraged to reach sustainability targets in three key areas: energy reduction, waste reduction and sustainable transport. Meeting this challenge required a variety of different communication approaches.
Ellis Jones has provided a range of communication services directly to the Office of the Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Mayor as well as the City of Melbourne administration including:
- Communication strategy and advice
- Media and stakeholder relations
- Speech writing (solely responsible for Deputy and Lord Mayor speeches for over six years)
- Diplomatic and external materials production
- Writing training for corporate communications staff
Most recently, Ellis Jones developed a strategy and campaign, and developed artwork and promotional materials, to raise awareness of the City’s environmental targets and motivate a positive change in staff behaviour.
The sustainability campaign ensured systematic communication with employees and contractors for three years. The City loved the result and we loved making it happen.
