What is shared value?
Shared value is a strategy to enhance competitiveness while simultaneously improving social and environmental conditions in the places you operate. Pioneered by Harvard Business School in 2011, it has since been embraced by companies such as Nestle, NAB, Walmart and Novartis, and in energy, Enel.
In Australia, Ellis Jones principal, Rhod Ellis-Jones has founded the Shared Value Project, now the national peak-body encouraging uptake of this model and the outcomes it delivers for businesses and society.
Shared value can enhance outcomes in:
– delivery of new energy generation projects
– increasing public participation
– rebuilding trust through combating complexity
– cross-sector partnership goal alignment
