People expect more from our energy. Be the difference that delivers.

Trust in Australia’s energy sector is lower than any other, having dropped 10 points since last year. Less than 25% of people now believe the energy market is acting in their best interests.

A shared value approach can help you turn the tide, rebuilding trust, retaining and gaining customers, boosting cross-sector partnerships or paving the way for social licence that sees communities championing your arrival.

Join like-minded innovators as we explore the energy sector’s current reinvention and how shared value can help us find a way forward. Register now

In this interactive session, Rhod Ellis Jones, founder of Australia’s Shared Value Project, will break down techniques specifically in the context of supporting success in the energy sector, while panellists will share their experiences in delivering for both people and profits.

Panellists

Laura Baker, Innovation, NAB –  Laura is a passionate advocate and practitioner of shared value. She works closely with teams to understand how shared value can be used as an innovation tool. NAB pioneered shared value in Australia with the development of NAB Assist, a service that identifies and support customers who are going through financial hardship. NAB now has several shared value initiatives, one of which is a partnership with Origin to help customers purchase and install solar panels through the NAB credit card rewards program, creating a win-win for the environment, customers, NAB and Origin.

Kirsten Lee, Community Relations, ACCIONA – A global leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy, ACCIONA has invested more than AUD$1 billion in Australia through local opportunities and project development. Kirsten facilitates dialogue between community needs and ACCIONA’s developments to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.

What is shared value?

Shared value is a strategy to enhance competitiveness while simultaneously improving social and environmental conditions in the places you operate. Pioneered by Harvard Business School in 2011, it has since been embraced by companies such as Nestle, NAB, Walmart and Novartis, and in energy, Enel.

In Australia, Ellis Jones principal, Rhod Ellis-Jones has founded the Shared Value Project, now the national peak-body encouraging uptake of this model and the outcomes it delivers for businesses and society.

Shared value can enhance outcomes in:

– delivery of new energy generation projects
– increasing public participation
– rebuilding trust through combating complexity
– cross-sector partnership goal alignment
