Meet Andrea.

Utterly magnetic and beaming with curiosity and creativity, Andrea is an award-winning senior consultant in our change-making communications team.

With an impressive resume spanning across a variety of sectors, such as education and publishing, this multi-talented conscious creative is passionate about using her storytelling gifts for good.

No matter the challenge, Andrea is renowned in the office for solving the toughest of problems and she sure does it with strategic flair (and a smile!).

Beyond her role at EJ, Andrea is a skilled painter, photographer and illustrator (we weren’t kidding when we said she is multi-talented) and loves all forms of expression.

Let’s get to know a bit more about Andrea!

Sum yourself up in 3 words.

For the love of words, I am going to choose 3 that are slightly unusual. Flavourful, fierce and free!

What were you doing before EJ?

Before EJ, I was getting a taste of start-up life and flexing my kaleidoscope of skills, in preparation for life as a senior consultant. Day-to-day, I would wear many hats including Creative Mentor, Head of Program Marketing and Design. One minute, I would be coaching emerging creatives on marketing strategy, the next I would be helping a business analyse their pitches, and then I might finish the day mocking up wireframes or designing a new brochure.

Creation is a beautiful process that I love every part of, so I’m extremely grateful for this experience, where I was able to grow my skills across such a wide range of areas.

Where do you see your future in communications taking you?

One reason I love the creative process is because it’s both forward-thinking and fluid – and I tend to take the same approach with my career. So far, this has spanned roles in marketing, advertising, publishing, coaching and consulting. And, while the nature of the problems has changed, my desire to solve them using strategy and design has remained constant.

As I continue to grow, I’d really like to hone my skills in brand strategy and storytelling for purpose-led brands; to be that champion for the ideas and messages so craved by our world. What really lights me up is creating something tangible that did not exist before – and seeing the transformation of a simple concept into a multi-dimensional, meaningful brand or experience that people can see, hear, feel, engage with and touch.

What area of your work are you most passionate about?

To add more specificity to my last response, I relish any form of content creation.

I’m here to tell stories the world needs to hear; and working with social impact brands allows me to do that. Whether that means writing a research report, a blog, a social media caption, or a value proposition – I feel the same sense of purpose and derive just as much pleasure.

Stories are what move people, so if I want to change the world, I believe my best chance is with my pen!

If you could choose just one thing to change about the world, what would it be?

I would like a world in which we all play outside the box. One where every individual has both the freedom and the power to express themselves, without fear of trading authenticity for attachment. One in which we recognise the richness and complexity of human beings – celebrating our similarities whilst also honouring our differences.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Embrace the beauty in the mess.

If your life was a movie, what character would you play?

Alice in Wonderland: “You’re mad, bonkers, completely off your head. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”
