We asked intrepid Melbourne artist, Mark ‘Bullet’ Butcher to turn one of our walls into a distinctly Collingwood statement. It features a great local identity now passed: John Wren.
Bookie, pub owner, boxing promoter, property baron and political power broker: Wren was both admired and loathed. There was little he didn’t try his hand at – much of it he seems to have pulled off.
A legendary figure, his life was the subject of Frank Hardy‘s novel Power Without Glory. His shadow looms large over the back streets round our office.
Mark’s done a fantastic job of melding Wren folklore with a form of Japanese painting and street art.
