Hills Healthcare is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian public company Hills Holdings Limited – famous for the ‘Hill’s Hoist’, as iconic as Aussie manufacturing gets. The company is a major manufacturer and distributor of Hospital, Residential Aged Care and Community Care equipment for the Australian and international markets.

Challenge 

Hills Healthcare works closely with healthcare professionals to develop products that meet the rigours of the Hospital, Residential Aged Care and Community Care industry. As such, it needs to understand the forces affecting the markets for its products. The healthcare division is a focus of the company’s growth strategy. As new players enter the market and the health profiles of older Australians change, there is a need to keep track of demand and market dynamics.

Response 

Ellis Jones was commissioned to undertake a major piece of research which provided insight for strategic planning and forecasting. The scope was national and required collation, modelling and analysis of public sector health data, stakeholder analysis, market forces and other micro economic data.
